April and early May: quiet and green

By early October the island begins to wind down, but the weather is often still warm enough to swim, and the villages feel authentically local again. It is the connoisseur's season: fewer visitors, gentle prices and a landscape just starting to turn green after the first autumn rains.

From November to March, Naxos returns to its residents. Many beach tavernas and seasonal hotels close, ferry schedules thin out, and the weather can be wet and windy, though bright, mild days are common too. It is a peaceful, authentic time to see island life, but not a beach holiday.
